I believe my '78 Mercury 900 90hp spark plug wires are original. I'm having a heck of a time trying to find out what wires I need to replace them with?

Mercury part number [h=1]CABLE ASSY-IGN | 84-813715A1[/h]
at $23 each, you need 6 of them.

Or buy the components and assemble them your self.

Use copper core wires, the kind used in old cars.

high resistance wires will kill your ignition.

That motor should have a distributor. The wires need to screw into the dist. cap, using crimped on screw ends. Try looking for the yellow tiger tails at the oldmercs website. They were $7 each, some years ago. You will need to install the spring connector and the boots.

IF you by the components to make your own it will be cheaper and have enough to last for maybe 2 more changes. I purchased [h=1]Sierra International 18-5225[/h]
