Thanks to any that responded to my earlier ( week or so back ) about my '78 Evinrude power pack problems. I managed to get it running really great. Next problem!! I replaced the beat up 10.5x11 prop with a new Michigan 10.25x11. The customer service at Deep Blue Yacht Supp. said the slightly smaller diameter would be OK. The old prop seemed to work pretty good. I just got it in the water today and once on a plane it ripped but wouldn't pop up on a plane for beans. Just me, 240 lbs and my grandaughter, 90 lbs dripping wet in the boat. The engine rev'd way up put it wouldn't go. Kasey had to jump up to the bow to get it to plane. It seems the beat up old prop did better. I guess it could be the smaller prop or that engine running alot better. I'm sure I need a bigger prop or more pitch but not sure. It's a '78 35HP Evinrude 14' TerryBass trihull bass boat. Like I said it cavitates and takes forever to on a plane.

Hey Bob....have you tried changing the tilt angle of the motor with that rod on the transom brackets? If it's set out to far, you may be pushing the bow to far up to get on plane.
