Im putting in a new waterpump and the old one has two outlet ports on it one of which has a pipe on it. The other looks as though it may have had a pipe coming out of it at one time. . .

Do I need to have a pipe coming out of each of the two ports? Am I missing one? Do they matter? It appears their plastic sleeves that help guide the pipes in the motor directly to the outlet on the waterpump. . .

Thanks in advance!

Is there a small cover that attaches to the top of the waterpump housing that has just one hole for the pump discharge that when installed conceals both housing discharge holes? The print I'm looking at shows one. Is one of the holes in question smaller that the other?Prints I'm looking at just show a single water tube that connects to the pump.

Both holes appear to be the same size. In the upper lower unit housing the lower unit bolts on to there are two brass or copper pipes that go into these holes. On my old one only one of the two have a plastic pipe coming off it that mates with the pipe in the upper housing.
