Lately when I get the boat started and slow down to idle speed the engine cuts off. When the boat is above idle speed it runs great. I don't know if there could be a problem with not getting enough gas when I slow down or what. There is also some gas leakage, not very much, but I can see a trail in the water every once in awhile. The lines all seem to be intact. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Well,

Provided all the other parts and settings of your 79 outboard are OK, I'd start with the idle circuits of any carbs.

Did you buy fresh gas this year?

Yes plenty of new gas, in fact I have had this boat out lots of time before this and it has run great. Just recently(last two time has this problem started).
