'79 Searay 240SRV trim wont work

Hi again fellow boaters! Thanks for the feedback on getting my Searay SOAK 'N FUSED up and running again. I did notice, also, that my trim motor would go up but not go down. I put a new trim motor on it and had it checked out by a marine mechanic but after a few times of working right, it went right back to going up but not going down. If you put pressure on it you can get it down but not with the switch. You can hear the motor running but it wont go down. Help!

How old?Merc?,probably gotta binding trim cylinder.Try removing the 4 hoses from the cylinders and sea if U can push the unit down EASLY.If not,disconnect the cylinders from the aft pins and sea which is tight.

(sorry bout the bouncy finger!)You should take them apart and rebuild them.(gotta know how!)
