8.1 gx-i hitting rev limiter

Over the winter I had my Perfect Pass servo removed from the throttle body. Gauge in the dash remains.

Took the boat out Saturday for a quick spin and now at WOT it seems to be hitting the rev limiter. Could the throttle cable adjustment do this? anything else that I should look for to see whats up? Nothing else changed.

Boat starts, idles and accelerates just fine. Just the cycle of rpm pull back on top followed by acceleration back to WOT. Repeat until throttle is reduced.

Thanks

perfect pass is used for bad drivers in ski boats that cant watch a tach, speedo, and the wake. its intended to control the throttle to duplicate the same engine run pulling skiiers. sort of like cruise control for ski boat drivers

most likely the perfect pass actuator and linkage were limiting the throttle travel and you were NEVER able to open the throttle completely with it connected and now you can.

so re-prop with a bigger pitch prop, or back the throttle off with the right hand.
