8 HP 4 Cycle Nissan trouble after carb rebuild

I have a 8 hp 4 cycle Nissan. Was running rough after winter storage. Had shop clean carb and new carb kit. Engine runs worse...will die when going into gear, barely idles without almost full choke. Mechanic has spent hours trying to adjust carb. No help. Not been able to sail since spring.
Replaced spark plugs, new factory fuel line bulb and connectors, new fuel filter, new gas. Mechanic is stumped.
Any ideas?

Sounds like you need to see a different dealer. There isn't much to adjust on that carb, aside from from the idle speed stop screw and the throttle linkage. You may need a new carb... or it may just need a better cleaning. If you need lots of choke, you are not delivering enough fuel when the choke is off.
