I resently rewired the ignition, how do I find out if the choke solenoid is working. I you one of those key/choke ignitions. The choke should open when I push and turn the key right.

The choke should stay close in the start position, it's either wired improperly or the wrong switch assm.

So on the wiring harness I connected the gray-wire(12v to choke solenoid) from the harness to the choke(electric) connector on the new ignition switch. When I push and the turn the key this should choke when I try to start? Would it be the same as the old mercontrol switchs were you had to push the choke button and turn the key?

Does this look right the way I hooked it up?

Wiring Harness New Switch
Red-12V--------B-battery
Black-ground-------M-magnito
Yellow-12V to solenoid directly to neutral interlock switch in control
box than from interlock switch to-------S-start
White-12V to switch box-------I-ignition
Salmon-kill wire to switch box--------M-magnito
Gray-12v to choke solenoid-------C-choke
Brown------sinal to Tach in control box
