80's 15hp evinrude lower unit oil

is it the philips head or the flats head screw that drains the oil i tried and cant get none to break loose. I did get the vent loose which is a flats head screw, oil from vent looked and smelled good so i put the vent back on ....any help please

also behind the prop there is a tiny factory hole that oil seems to seep slowly out of

BigKash<br />The oil drain and the fill level plug are flat head bolt heads. Do not remove the Phillips head screw or you will have to take gear box apart to fix.<br />To remove the oil need to take both the fill level plug and the fill/drain plug out.<br />To refill screw pump or tube in bottom hole and add oil until it comes out the top hole. Then put the top plug in and remove the pump or tube from the bottom and put the bottom plug in.<br /><br />I beleive the hole you are talking about is the drain hole to let water out bottom of engine to prevent freezing. If the oil is black oil it is normal this is just unburned two stroke oil.<br /><br />I would really suggest you get a manual for your motor. It will save both time and money in the long run.
