80s 15hp tiller grip removal

I have a what I assume is 80s mercury force 15hp motor. I am trying to get into the grip of the tiller to replace throttle cable. Are there any tricks to getting these off? I don’t have a model/serial number on this motor so I’m not sure of the year. And I don’t understand the whole mercury Chrysler force thing so if I’m in the wrong place please let me know. I have attached a photo of the motor for reference
