Hey guys. Trying to diagnose a stalling/flooding problem. I inherited this older engine and would like to get it back into shape. I have cleaned the carb, cleared lines, replaced the impeller, replaced oil, and installed new plugs. I can get the engine to start on the first or second pull every time and it runs strong initially. But after about a minute or so it starts to "bog" down and eventually dies. Not sure if this is heat related or flood related. Water is fine so my only other concern with regards to heat would be the oil. Gonna be checking the filter this weekend but still have a question regarding the float in the carb. It appears the the float has a tiny, hairline crack so and I am wondering if that could be causing a flooding condition. I've adjusted the lean/rich screw enough and do not notice a difference. Also, it looks as though my plugs are fouling out pretty quick (lots of carbon build up in a short amount of run time). If I leave it alone for a while I can go back and get it to crank right up.
Any ideas here? Thanks!
