I rebuilt the carbs on my E70ELCIH and after putting them back on, I cant figure out how the choke linkage springs should be configured. The choke solenoid is pulling the choke plates closed but I need to know which spring (or mechanism) pulls them back open when the solenoid relaxes? I ordered an OMC manual hoping it has a photo or has this info in it but havent received it yet. I've also been scanning the internet looking for photos of similar choke linkages but havent found one that helps yet. Thanks.

Re: 81 Evinrude 70 Choke Linkage

I've done a ton of research on this and still cant figure out how to get the choke back open after the solenoid closes it!!!! The OMC manual doesnt describe it and photos arent detailed enough to see it. The boat is running great but currently after choking it I have to take the cowl off and manually turn off the choke. I called a local outboard mechanic today but he couldnt remember how it should work. Any help would be greatly appreciated!!!!!!!!
