Last summer, we made the mistake of putting our boat in at a launch that was, unknowingly, way too shallow. I lowered the motor and, after realizing that the water was really shallow, raised it up to max. height. After we paddled the boat out to deeper waters, I pressed the "down" button on the power trim and nothing happened. Any suggestions on what to check? I have a feeling I overloaded it when I lowered it, but am not sure. Could it possibly be something as simple as a fuse that protects the trim hydraulics?? Would appreciate any help we can get. We are very new at this and hope we can avoid an expensive trip to the boat dealer.

Make sure the tilt lock didn't flop down. Otherwise check your hydraulic fluid, top it off. See the "Older Merc 115 Tilt Question" thread. Similar problem.

You should have a trim pump inside your boat, some had fuses and circuit breakers on the pump.
You can check the fuses and check with a meter to see if there is power to the motor or not.
When you said nothing happen, Does that mean it didn't click or anything?
Since it worked going up, I would bet you have a bad connections some place in the tilt system.
