All my heavy gauge B+, the red and orange cables, are attached to the B+ side of the Voltage Meter which includes B+ gong down to the switch.

Ayuh,... Move the heavy wires from the volt meter to the keyswitch battery post,....

The volt meter needs to see power, only after the key is turned "On",.....

Ya probably got an extra heavy wire from the ammeter install, you can cap off, 'n not use,...

This makes a lot of sense! Those wires were already on the Volt Meter when I went back to working on it, from 3 years ago, when someone else was giving me a hand. Like they say ,"A picture is worth a thousand words!" I'll give it a try a little later this evening after supper. Thanks!

Dang it! Honey Do's and rain got in my way of putting the wires where they belong. Give another try in the morning. Getting so close to getting the old girl back in the water. After resolving all my electrical issues I have to pull the risers off and make sure I put the correct gasket on when I put the new risers on. I cracked open the thermostat housing with it running and water is getting into the engine. but doesn't want to come out the exhaust in the back. Could also be the exhaust manifold water holes are blocked with rust from sitting so long. The "pee" hole is peeing, starboard side, so I'm thinking the outdrive impeller is ok.

Here's where I started that fiasco back in October of 2014. When I get electrics working I'll resume that posting.

Check it out if interested!

Success! After moving the large red and orange wires to the B+ side of the ign switch, plus a couple of other little wire corrections, everything is back to operating correctly. (FOR NOW!) Now I will go back to my original problem of the lower impeller problem on the old posting I started back in October of 2014. Special thanks to "BT Doctur and Bondo" for sticking it out with me to fix my "brain dead" electrical problems. Thanks Guys!

It wasn't exactly a final fix. The success was only temporary! Finally found out that the pins on the wiring harness engine plug was intermittent making contact. After expanding the split pins and hooking it back into the plug everything has been just fine.
