Hey guys. I'm fixing a motor for my friend as a winter project in exchange for using it when I want to. It's got chewed up gears where the tiller ARM folds up. It worked fine this summer other tha it being real hard to turn the throttle up. so now it needs new gears or what not and I'm having a hard time finding them. I also could use some advice on making the throttle parts open easier. It's even hard to turn under the hood pulling parts and levers. I'll start with lube but it looks well lube. Any way, thank for any help. Erik

Ebay has what your looking for right now,I just bought the shafts and gears for 12 bucks each.I had to buy the short shafts, then I'll just swap out the gears.
Clean out all the old grease on everything, then I use some carb cleaner to get them working real smooth, regrease and they should work just fine. There is also a tension screw to adjust the friction of the tiller throtle.

If you go back a page or so on this forum & under the FAQ, down near the bottom of that page you will find a link to (9.9/15hp OMC Engines by "The Machinist").

Here I have over a dozen articles relating to these motors. In the Trouble-Shooting article is a section describing how to deal with your issue.
