'82 SuzukiDT40C Flush plug? Huh?

I have a SuzuliDT40C
I know what the "Oil filler plug" and the "oil drain plug" are for,
but what is the "Flush Plug" for and how is it used?
The manual is VERY vague about this.

It is basically to flush the motor with fresh water after use in salt water to prevent salt buildup, but it is much easier to just use the muffs ......

Does using the muffs clean that area of the motor?
Is it a good idea to use this Flush area now and then?

With the muffs on the fresh water will rinse out the whole cooling system ... so no need to use the flush plug ... it oes the exact same job ...
