Just rebuilt fuel pump.Getting fuel to pump - have fuel filter installed right before pump so I can monitor fuel flow - I pump bulb, fuel filter fill's up and bulb is hard. Engine will run until fuel is gone in in filter unless I keep hitting the bulb. All I did was go to a Moeller 12 gal tank from a 6 gal.New fuel line and fitting at the tank and these problem's arose. I disconnect the fuel line at the pump and sqeeze-get fuel-open nut on carb float bowl and squeeze -get fuel.I noticed the pickup tube in the new tank is much bigger than the 6 gal. and I just rebuilt the fuel pump.I was messing around with it and loosened the nut that hold's the fuel inlet cap on the fuel pump just a hair and for a few second's the fuel started moving.Could this fuel pump be bad...? and if so how...? I can't find an exlpoded view of the inner pump. Anybody have a clue....?

My guess from reading other posts here is that there is an air leak somewhere in the fuel line.

I have just started experiencing the same thing today. Were it will start and run fine after I pump the bulb but shut it down and will then not start unless I reprime the bulb. Once that is done it runs fine again. With mine I'm going to start by replacing the fuel line. If still there then I'll start looking at the gas tank as I suspect it might be at the fitting in the tank.
