POOR POOR construction during that year. Low quality stringer's and low quality construction practice. Look out for soft spots in the deck since they rot from the inside out.......... I would avoid that year and most of the early 80's.
Older ones from the northern areas get hammered in the winter with freeze thaw cycles and many found today have waterlogged foam.
