So we (I) added to our (my) collection of boats a month or so ago. Some of you may remember my '77 glastron 888 engine rebuild threads, still running great.
Anyhow, I recently acquired a 1983 Cobalt 18DV (wife wanted more room and smoother ride) that was in need if work in the transom area. Water getting into bilge (bellows), growling noise while turning (gimbal bearing), and trim switch inop (limit switch). So I replaced all that and just generally tidied up the transom area. I fixed all that was wrong, but my trim guage is now only reading full down or full up, depending on how far up the drive actually is. As many of you know, the sender switches are only sold in pairs (limit switch and trim sender) so I replaced them both. Any ideas? I have the wiring connected properly (according to the manual schematic), but I'm not 100% sure that I adjusted it correctly. I followed the manual, but the lines didn't line up exactly as the manual stated they should. These are mercruiser switches, BTW.
