Long story,
last summer I was running the boat and it was fine, late in the day it got to were it would only idle, if i tryed to increase rpm it would stall. still would start and idle fine. I park it till now,I thought I would rebuild the carb this week, thinking the problem was feul related.
Today i decide to start it befor i pulled the carb to make sure it would still run. It will not start and i had no fire, I ( dissconnected the remote control wires and it has a lil spark, not enough ( both plugs) could this be a powerpack issue? and not feul at all? Some time between my last trip and now The key was left on and fried the red wire (little one) on the starter. i know something is shorting out in the remote, would the key switch have burnt up the power pack? (1984 has no points to burn)
my repair book tells how to test the stater plate and therectifer with a diode test. how do I test the PP? both coils fire the same so i would rule them out?
I will be out of town all week but know I will have to check the remote harness for a short.......thanks for any help
