84 century meridien 275 merc outdrives

This boat has 260 chevy v/8s which merc outdrive should it have? It is 28 ft long

Probably the Mercruiser I-R drive. But I can't see it from here. Any SN's on the drive? Pictures?

Looking to buy the boat if owner calls me back. I found one on boat trader that said it had alpha 1 I know they dont look like bravos

Bravos didn't come out till 88, so that leaves them out. It's probably just the I-R drive (what people call a pre alpha) The alpha I didn't happen till 86.
