84 chrysler 90---86 125 force--will cd boxes and coils interchange

found a complete set of cd boxes and coils off a 86 125 force model #1254x6b-----serial# 1258 will they fit my 84 90 chryslermodel #908v4b---serial # 1113..they look the same but iam being told two different types that year.can anyone help.

Not sure on the cd modules.
I know that all the blue cd units are interchangeable, but don't know about the black ones.
I see several different part numbers listed for the black ones.

Also. 908v4b doesn't look right.

It appears to be a US Marine model number, not a Chrysler number.
And Chrysler was bought out by US Marine by 1984.
Also, they didn't make a 90 hp in '84

84 is the year they stopped making chrysler.this one has the black cd boxes and coils.its a 84 and its 90 hp.id tag saids model#9084vb serial # 1113

Doug Russell site shows that motor. CD unit part number is F475301-1 and the cost is $531.89. Ouch. I can see why you dont want to buy new. I am in agreement with you. I cant see how both could have fried. Here is the test procedures from the Marine Doctors site. You will need a DVA adapter which cost about 40 dollars and attaches to a standard digital DVM>

All tests are done with the starter turning the engine over. Please watch the moving parts so you do not get hurt.

Stator output test.

Set tester at 400 DVA stator wires removed from terminal block.

Red lead to stator lead 1
Black lead to stator lead 2

Red lead to stator lead 3
Black lead to stator lead 4

All above tests should yeild 210 volts or higher...if less than 210 volts...replace Stator.

Trigger output test.

Set tester to 2 DVA, all trigger wires removed from terminal block.

Red lead to trigger 1 lead.
Black lead to trigger 2 lead.

Red lead to trigger 3 lead.
Black lead to trigger 4 lead.

All tests should yeild 0.3 volts or higher. If less replace trigger.

NOTE...If NO readings are obtained, reverse meter leads.

CD Box output test 400 DVA

Red lead to good ground.
Black lead to wire that runs to coil.

Test both leads from the CD box.

All tests should yield 210 Volts or more. If the voltage is less but matches the Stator output voltage, replace Stator before replacing CD box and retest.

DONT KNOW BUT I HAVE HAD IT CHECK OUT BY THE NUMBERS AND THATS WHAT IT IS.

Roscoe mercruiser site shows it. Hard to really call this a chrysler though. Got more force in it then chrysler.

thats very true,more force than chrysler.
