Re: 84 Force 125 Prop Selection

I'll agree with JB, my friend had a gps, and my speedo is about 2mph faster than it, but I account for it. Actually, I was well impressed with the accuracy of my speedo. I can't really believe I am saying this, but...Don't worry so much about speed, speedometers, hull weight, etc. Worry about rpm's and that your motor is running the best it possibly can. Speed may be the worst way to test, considering the inconsistencies in speedo's, hydrodynamics of hull, etc. If you wanted to test it by speed, you would have to put the 2 motors on the same boat, then see. No matter what that speedo says, you can only get so much out of a motor, and the feel and sound, in my opinion are the best ways to tell. If you wanna run with your ears pinned back, get a 225 optimax or ficht with about a 25 pitch on it and see if it doesn't feel like the boat is outta the water. Good luck with the speed, but make sure you take care of that Force very well, b/c 50 is better than 0. :D :D :D

Don't forget to let us know how you come out!
