If the screw you're speaking of is a regular but fairly long slotted screw that has a red washer in back of it, that is a plug type screw (not adjustable). A slow speed jet exists way in back of it.
With the carburetor off, float chamber removed, the top portion of the carburetor turned upside down... you'll see a very small diameter brass tube that is off center within the larger brass high speed nozzle. That small brass tube is the fuel passageway to the slow speed jet. It must be very clean for the fuel to flow freely.
The high speed jet in horizontally located in the center bottom portion of the float chamber, way in back of the float chamber drain plug. That also must be perfectly clean as fuel must flow thru it before the fuel can gain passage to any other fuel passageway.
I think that I have the fixed jets. The only thing that makes me say that is I'm struggling to find something to adjust. When the carbs are all together... there's really only 1 screw that can be turned.
