Re: 84' Stratos resurrection***PICS***

after dealing with financial blocks, i finally got the motor running mostly right. and was able to do some water trials yesterday, the "maiden Voyage" wont be official till we have some fishing rods on board, but heres some pics and ill post a video of us doing about 60mph!

the extra time spent redesigning the transom braces seems to pay off in the hole shot. All that power is transferred so well that the boats JUMPS on plane!

THANKS TO EVERYONES SUPPORT BY FOLLOWING. 2 years later and we're almost ready for the real deal!

Hey 2 months or 2 years, still got it done, and thats what matter. Glad to see the water trial went well. Nothing left but cosmetic stuff. Did she handle on a plane okay?

yah everything left is cosmetic. new gauges carpet and hardware.

She handles great.
lots of big waves created by local ski boats put the integrity of the new structure and it performed great. cuts the deep wakes smooth. No chine walking at high speeds, though the torque of the outboard is def felt, i need to adjust the trim tab. One other thing I can say needs improvement is the slip im getting on a turn. I want to blame a little bit on original hull pad design, but having the lower half of the skeg sheared off by the previous owner dosnt help either!

Im eventually gonna buy a new lower unit or skeg guard to compensate.

Your boat looks awesome. I have pretty much the same boat, an 86' Stratos 179V. I picked mine up for $1500. It doesn't need any major work (floor and transom are solid) just allot of little stuff. I am glad because I have no where nere the tallent and patience that you do. Where did you get your seats? I have been looking for a set for mine and haven't found any for less than $500.IMG_1148.jpgIMG_1169.jpgIMG_1167.jpg

Did you ever do the Skeggaurd? My 87 Stratos 200-DV, has an Evinrude 88SPL on it, and the Skeg was broken on delivery. I put a Skeggaurd on and it looks great!

i never did get it fixed, but I need to! Nettle Props, the guys who fixed my prop and shaft also repair skegs and for $200 bucks they will make it new by welding sanding and repainting the whole dam thing....pretty good investment knowing that piece should help protect my original investment!

Nice to see you enjoying the boat.
