Lol! I just noticed for the first time that I have three different kinds of wheels on my trailer.

Looks better after the bath! I raised mine up to do something  can't remember what now....with a port a power....jut put it under the transom and raised her up. Then I slid a 2X4 on top of the bunk and sat her down. Worked pretty good on Miss Morgan. I also did the same thing when I replaced the bunks with longer ones. I have you beat on the wheels.....I have a trailer with a tank sprayer on it that has different BOLT patterns on each hub!

Is a 2x4 rated for a ton? I might need to double up.

I just laid it on top of the existing stringer, raised it up an 1-1/2". Your boat should be pretty light with the motor and drive out of it.

Your restoration is looking good. I am getting ready to start one also and will be doing the same seat configuration as you are. I was curious are you going to put anything on the back of the bench seat to help with the heat of the engine compartment?

Yes reward-1000, I'm going to use a type of silver insulation, pretty much exactly like silver windshield sun shade. I can't telll you where to buy any. We had several rolls laying around work, because we use it as pipe insulation.

Pardon the crappy pic. It's hard to get a good pic of something that shiny.

Re: '84 Wellcraft Repairs and Paint

Went to the automotive paint store today and picked out a color for the stripe, and wouldn't you know it, they didn't have enough pigment to do the color I need. Oh well, it's just an hour and a half of driving for nothing. I know I've been saying I'd be using pettit easypoxy for the red stripe, but I've decided I'd be better off going with a catalyzed acrylic automotive paint instead. They'll have it ready for me in the morning, and I should be laying down some paint tomorrow sometime. The good news is, the professionals at B&H Supply in Norman, OK (advertisement opportunity :D) told me that since the substrate is nice and smooth with no imperfections and has been sanded to 400 grit, I can just spray topcoat directly on that. No primer necessary.

Hey there, been reading through a few pages of your thread. Looking good. Just wanted to drop in and say hi.

BTW: if you thought the holes in your seat back panel was strange, you should check out the holes in my transom for a good laugh. Its on page 8 of my tread. I'm thinking maybe our previous owners were duck hunters and had an accidental discharge.

Holy crap 83mulligan! That's just nuts. I can't even imagine what all those holes would be for. Thanks for stopping in.

Re: '84 Wellcraft Repairs and Paint

Well, still no paint today, crap! I had more prep to do on the transom than it looked like there would be. I decided that I won't be using the original mounting holes for the swim platform, so I needed clean up the holes and fill them with epoxy. It also took me longer than I thought to clean the sealant that was around all the holes in the transom and et it nice and clean. That stuff was tough. Then I prepped and filled all the screw holes on the top of the edge of the gunnel where the old railing was. There was still plenty of time in the day to get the painting done, but I ran out of gas. I just couldn't hang anymore after working all night, so I went home to sleep. The peanut butter should be all cured up in the morning, and I'll hit them with some sandpaper and get to painting.

I feel like a kid on Christmas morning when you get up early about to burst in anticipation of opening presents, but you have to wait on everybody else to get up before you can rip them open. My upholstery is done today, my captains chairs will be arriving today, my Lenco trim tabs will arrive today, and I'm going to get the paint shot today. But I want it all right now.:D

Sorry about the crappy pics. I guess there was still too much of a paint cloud in the shop or might have got overspray on the lens. I'll get some better ones out in the sun tomorrow.

That is a good looking red. It might look better if it were a KU crimson red, just saying. The boat is looking real good and I will be using some of your work to inspire ideas on my restoration.

Re: '84 Wellcraft Repairs and Paint

Okay fellas, here are some better pics. The ones from yesterday were a disgrace, but I have a hard time getting good ones inside the shop. I think it looks pretty sweet out in the sun. It doesn't help that the trailer is still poopoo brown, but it's summertime and I don't want to mess with it right now.
