still in rebuild mode here but here is where i have gotten. i have fuel and compression. thought i had spark causing timing light to fire but spark tester proved me wrong.not sure if cheap harbor freight light was picking up on other cylinders firing but number one is dead. i have crossed primaries from cd's,all coils work. i have crossed connections from trigger and both sides of number one cd and number two cd for 3rd cylinder work.this leaves me with replacing a trigger i only used two years.when i reinstalled it it looked funny like it was seperating and rusting or something. any advice is always appreciated.

Check your spark tester on your other cylinders to see if it is working on them. If your spark tester works on your other cylinders, then you know for sure you're not getting spark. I would also do the same with your timing light, just to make sure that it's not your tools causing a misdiagnosis. If tools are working properly, refer to service manual or Clymers for troubleshooting in order to properly diagnose your problem.
