'85 85hp Force - Vent Line?

Quick question - a have a 1985 Force 85hp motor that i am tuning up. Compression was 150 on all 3 cylinders - great. Put in new plugs.<br /><br />My question - There are 2 lines coming off the bottom of the manifold, behind the bottom carb. One runs back up to top of manifold and is connected fine. The other is not connected to anything - just lying there and has an L-shaped connector on it, similar to other connectors on the motor. It is about 6 inches long. Is that a vent line that shouldn't be hooked up, or does it go somewhere on the motor? I looked all over the motor and couldn't find anywhere to hook it up.<br /><br />Please help.

That line goes into your crankcase, behind and below the fuel pump. It is for recirculating excess gas back into the intake side of your motor. If in doubt, check the manual, it will explain the whole process of recirculation(kinda like the PCV valve on your truck)
