I've had good luck with the big box store indoor/outdoor stuff. Some say this glue never dries or it turns wet again when it comes in contact with water. Just take your time with the glue, it will get everywhere. I just use a trowel to spread it out. I use lots of thin medical type rubber gloves and all the large pieces of cardboard you can find. It's gonna get on the cardboard you have layed down, get a clean piece to put down so it won't get on the new face of the carpet.
Iboats sells carpet or other online retailers. I went with 16 oz , seems ok. My other boat I went with 20 oz and it was a bit plusher. All in how much you want to spend

Looks nice, I like the 2 colors of carpet, it has me thinking.....

How did you attach the decks to the stringers/framing? Maybe it's the pics but did you attach them and then put the carpet over the top?

I used 16oz when I did my old Lund and it turned out very nicely. And yes I did it the way some yell that it's just wrong but there is nothing under it to have to service and is garage kept so I don't see that carpet or decking coming up again any time soon. And, if the carpet cement keeps coming loose like other people say then it won't be a problem to remove anyways!

To apply the carpet I used a 1/8" notched trowel to apply the glue and put it down in small areas as I worked the carpet down. I then actually took an old rolling pin and rolled it all out to get all the air and wrinkles out and help spread the cement.. It's been down for almost 7 years now and is still tight. And yes it's been wet more than a few times while out fishing in the rain.

ultra353 very nice indeed!!! Really like it. My Classic 16 is sitting in pcs in the garage. All the ply is still out of it, live well is out, rod box. Doesn't look like it will be finished this season.Too many other projects happening. Side tracked to a 14.5' Sea Nymph.

Did you move the steering helm back on that boat? Like the rear deck you built.

Thanks bonz_d. I know that feeling of having your boat in pieces for sure. This is my 3rd restore and I'm kinda burnt out for awhile. I'll still flip motors but it's time to get out and enjoy the rest of the summer.
The rear casting deck is the way it came from the factory. If the boat works well on its maiden voyage I'll put it up for sale this weekend, what do you think its value is ? I'm thinking 2500-3000? But I guess it's all what someone thinks is worth. I'll be watching for your restore when you get it going

I watch CL pretty closely in the Chicago/Rockford area along with most of Wis. and the Twin Cities. Particularly watch the Alumacraft's and Lund's. I've seen those like yours in the $2200 to $3800 range and they still seem to sell.
