I have a 1985 Evinrude, 90HP VRO, Model# E90TLCOS. I have the oil injection disconnected for years and the fuel pump has crapped out. Is there another replacement without the oil injection that is less expensive that the 3-4 hundred dollar one that is the original? I've read some posts on this issue but cannot weed out what particular part number to use.
Thank you advance.

I have run into this same situation. Did anyone ever find a part number that will work for this motor?

Have same issue... 1984 johnson 90 Looking for this info. too...???

Found this info. in forum recently posted by emdsapmgr. Great!

The old-style 88 hp premix fuel pump supercedes a few times up to Bombardier part number 438556. racerone is correct, you'd have to plug the pulse fitting, as this premix pump mounts directly to the side of the engine. (you will need a 303615 gasket, too.) If you want to reuse the existing fuel pulse line using an alternative factory premix pump, you can purchase this factory fuel pump instead: 438559. It will connect up just like your current VRO. No gasket required. Either will work just fine.

You should be able to replace it with the regular fuel pump that is used on the 1983 90 horse engines. The OEM part#is 0388268 and also 0438556. The sierra replacement pump 0438556 is 18-7352 . Johnson/Evinrude has these numbers for their 1983 90 horse.
On the block there should be a plug that you can remove and just install the pump like you would on a 1983. just make sure you plug the vro vacuum inlet on the block. Just don't forget to mix your fuel.
The oem pump is about $85 and the Siera should be cheaper.
