im new here to the forums lots of great info on here kinda glad i found it. but i have a 1985 15.7ft glastron i do not no the model of it kinda wish i did still looking for it online. the original owner added casting platforms to it and did not protect them with anything but carpet so they were extremly heavy and upon removing the decks noticed some soft spots in floor and by the pics ive posted you can see what i found so im gonna rip off the cap and redo transom stingers and everything else thats bad and im thinking about removing the drivers console and redoing it alittle different being they cut off the passenger one.

IMG_5218.jpgIMG_5179.jpg Welcome, Looks like you have a real project on your hands. Take your time, read as much information as you can find. I thought my boat would take me about six months. That was two years ago. But it is very rewarding work, and there are a lot of people out here to help. Good luck, keep us posted.

That hull is really trashed. Are you sure you want to get that involved with this boat? Unless it has some sort of sentimental value, I really think you'd be better off taking that sweet Merc and finding a better hull for it. You're looking at a minimum of $1-2k to properly rebuild a hull like that.

Well it's the materials that are the biggest cost, the rest is just hard labor! So if you've got a line on some resin and know what you're getting into then by all means carry on!

Looks like they spared no expense eh?!

A properly glassed in deck will not be waterlogged.

Was there any floatation foam in the boat?
