85 mercury 60hp tilt latch?

when I put my engine in reverse and throttle up the engine tilts on my suzuki there is a tab to push in at the front base to hold it down is there such a tab that I'm completely missing on this mercury???

I see the latch arms and the springs connected to the rod going into the lower unit but no locking mechanism?

any suggestions

me again I investigated further and found that when the lower unit is fully engaged to reverse it appears that the latch is supposed to lock at full engagement. Is there a wear item in there or an adjustment that can be made? I tightened the nut on the rod coming up from the lower unit and it actually made the unit easier to lift while in reverse. I've loosened it to original and then a couple more turns and basically the same results.

any ideas?
