So I've been digging deeper into underlying issues on my 1985 16.5' Sierra fiberglass boat. I've recently come across rotting stringers and transom - I'll be posting a thread in the restoration page for help / progress.
I do have an additional question: I've got the oildyne trim pump with the metal reservoir. I'd like to switch it to the plastic reservoir for ease of filling and seeing the fluid. It looks like the oildyne pumps that originally came with the plastic reservoir are the exact same size as the ones with the metal reservoir. Also, it appears they both screw on with a single screw from the bottom. Can anyone confirm that the plastic reservoir is a direct replacement in place of the metal one?
