Re: 85 omc sea drive

Maybe somebody will pipe in with the current recommended plug for an 85 sea drive 115. My chart doesn't have them on it. There are some real horror stories on here about NGKs in some motors. Probably some horsepower/year combo's (piston shapes) are more susceptible than others for melting.

Re: 85 omc sea drive

Ok here is where i am at. I took the boat to a local shop that told me the everything was wrong but none of what he was telling me had nothing to do with what i asked him. he also said that the compression was low in one cyl ect. ect. so i had it taken to another shop that came recomended to me by a friend. he checked the compression like i did and he has no clue why the first shop would tell me such crap. well he did know but he really did not want to put another shop down so he continued and found that the new fuel pump that i put on was actually in worse shape than the original one. i took the original one to him so he could test it and he said it would only hold 10 lbs of vacume and the new one would only hold 6 and they should hold at 12 lbs. i told him to fix or replace what he needs and now i am waiting. so i will let you all know how this plays out. you would think that after paying 349.00 for a new fuel pump that it would actually work but what do i know. shold get it back this week sometime so will let you all know then. i am going to take a few days off to go fishing as soon as i get it back.
