850 max. revs

I noticed many recommendations to go a little over on the max RPM on different models. My motor is a 1977 850. Max RPM = 5500. Should I go a little over also? Right now I am getting 4600 - 4800 depending on the day. That is with a 17P prop. I am going to try a 15P and a 13P prop this sring.

rick I think a 15 will put you right in the proper range but it's alway better to test run when possible. When testing try to have the boat with a average load, when testing in light condition you will windup low on RPM when loaded or skiing
