85hp chrysler 70's

Ok. I got the prw pak and she fired!<br />IT won't run.<br />When starting it, it'll fire off but won't keep running... It also Backfires out the exhaust hole...<br />I set the timing with a continuity lite...Could the wires be crossed?<br />How do they go?<br />Is there a diagram somewhere?<br />It has been sitting since '89<br />H E L P !!!!

Check the flywheel and make sure the key isn't broken.

Fire is usually 1-2-3.

I know it is 1-2-3-, but which wire goes to1-2-3- from the dist. cap

On the crankshaft there is a groove cut out of the side, the flywheel has the same groove and there is a key (small piece of metal) that fits in that groove to keep your flywheel in the same orientation as the crank- if the key beaks the flywheel might not be lined up correctly, which mean when you set the timing off the flywheel your timing would be off- <br /> Will look at my boat later to see if I can shed light on your plug wire situation
