I opened the motor to check the new pistons after the 15 hour breakin precedure and I found bad pits on the top ridge of the piston in the top cylinder of my 3cyl 85hp chrysler. does anyone know what might have caused this. I suspect my top carb.so i'm looking for carb kits.

I would've come to the same conclusion, a lean condition. How did it run durring break-in? What does the plug look like from that cylinder?

it seemed to run well but i did'nt push it. the plug had quite a bit of carbon on it, and there was alot on the head portion of that cylinder.do you think a carb kit would take care of it,or would a new carb be better.
