85hp O/B charging battery?

Is/should my 85 hp O/B charging my battery when I'm out on the water running around? Man, I really need to pick up a manual on this motor......

Yes/yes.Look on line you can get a CD pretty cheap.The library has them or can get the one you need.J

I read on here somewhere about a phone # you can call & they will send you a free manual. I called the phone # (US Marine) & the guy was very nice & helpfull, he said he'll send it via email in a pfd (or whatever) file. That was weeks ago & have yet to receive anything. I should call again I guess...... As far as the charging go's, Where would I hook up a volt meter and/or amp meter?

I was in the states on the weekend in Buffalo and picked up a clymer manual for $9.95 at West Marine. If someone can post that number it would be great because i called bayliner and I haven't received my manual yet.

With the motor not running check the voltage at the battery. Now start the motor and as RPMs increase you should see an increase in voltage. If you don't test your restifier.

I'm going to pick up a volt meter from auotzone. ya, I know it's not for wet conditions,bla-bla-bla, but it's only for the rest of this year. I should have it hooked up by the end of the weekend (if weather gives me a break). I'm sure the motor is charging the way it should, havn't had any issues, was just wondering. Tanx, MAXX
