HELLO ALL
I JUST CAME ACROSS WHAT I BELIEVE IS A GREAT DEAL AND I NEED ALL THE EXPERTS OPINION

I HAVE A 85HP FORCE ON MY BAYLINER CAPRI NOW. I CAME ACROSS A 150HP FORCE OFF A 92. Will my bayliner Capri be able to support this 150hp engine, without compromising the hull? the engine snapped a ring so is in need of a piston and ring,it comes with a 1yr old rebuilt lower end receipts were presented where the seller dropped 700 dollars in lower end work alone the engine is being sold complete with power tilt and trim and wiring but my main concern is the fitting into my existing boat the reason i want a bigger engine is because i want to be able to take the family out and not have them move to the front of the boat every time i want to gain speed it is a cuddy cabin so it is harder with this engine i feel i would be able to plane out faster, so any and all advice would be greatly appreciated

Re: 85hp to 150 HP FORCE ENGINE

I'm guessing the boats an 80'S something. It was setup for an 85 the factory rates that hull with the max hp I believe to be about 90.
The 150 will fit but it might be too much for that small a boat.
The yellow weight sticker will tell max hp. If you ever got boarded they will compare that to the motor. You could possibly get crap from the Coasties or local cops.J

According to the boaters exam I just took...if you overpower your boat according to the sticker inside you will get fined.
