86 115 inline 6 ser#

im trying to order a solenoid for the motor but the title for this motor says
the ser# is 0A976192. none of the parts match this. none of the 115's have a
A in the ser#. what is up with that? witch part do i need?

115 1986 ELPTO
The zero in the serial number is irrelevent, any merc dealer should be able to order or supply parts for you with the serial number given.

Mercury part #89-96054 now Superceded to 89-96054T STARTER SOLENOID .

Interesting, on the Merc parts site I found that two of the three serial # ranges ending "and up" used the later model small relay yet the last one '8076340 and up' calls for the old large relay.
