86 alpha1 sterndrive changing raw water impellor?

I assume i just unbolt the lower housing from the upper housing and replace the impellor.Are there any gaskets to mate the two housings together? I assume if everything goes right this can be done in hour?

You are assuming way too much.

Section 3B explains what you need to do to replace the impeller.
As a rule of thumb, ALL gaskets and orings are a one time use item. If you take them apart, replace them.
