I was getting no fire on the right side and changed the power pack. Now the boat ran 1/4 mile good then has kind of a miss when trying to take off. Before changing pack it would die (like it was flooding out) now it bogs but doesnt die as easily and it will bog then act like it is going to take off then bog back down. Could I have a short in the kill switch wire to one side?

Thanks for any help

Re: 86 evinrude kill switch

Sorry bout that. 1985 Evin 150 I moved it to a new boat annd it ran fine for about a week. Temp alarm kept coming on so I replaced the impeller and thermostats. Ran it again and the alarm came on. Found out that a bare connector (originally from the vro alarm, have removed the pump) was groundin out. This is when all prob's started. I cut the wire (was no longer connected to anything) above the bare connector. Compreesion test showed 95-98 on all cylinders. Had no fire to the right side so I changed the powerpack. Now it bogs down and starts to take off and then it doesn't but, it doesn't completely die out like it did before.

Thanks
