There seems to be alot of problems with power loss. Here is my scenario. I have an 86 Johnson 60 HP 3 cylinder on a 20' pontoon. This motor was a VRO, bit when the VRO unit went bad (last year) I removed it and installed a comercial grade OMC fuel pump. Carbs were cleaned thoroughly in may. Last time boat was ran was a week ago and all was fine. It sat all week (boat stays in the water) with about 1/3 tank of fuel. Fired it up yesterday and it started fine and idle with no problem. Filled the tank up and started out from the dock. At WOT the boat now feels like it is barely moving (it has an extreme loss of power). The engine sounds fine (no missing or hiccups in the motor sound). As I put more load on the prop (i.e. lower the trim) the boat gets slower and the motor seems to die down more (still runs smooth just doesn't sound wide open. I am going to try the spray bottle trick and pulling plug wires to see if the motor picks up/dies this afternoon.

One last thing, the prop did have an impact with a tree (long story) in May. The impact was solid enough to shut off the engine. I have had the motor under heavy loads since then with no problems. Is it possible that something was damaged then that is just now showing itself?

Any help/direction on this issue is greatly appreciated!
