ok this is what my motor is doing it starts really hard and wont rev up when is does. if you pump the ball it revs up it will idle for a few mins then it dies. if you put it in gear it will run all day and if you slowly pump the ball it revs a little more once you bring it back down to idle it idles fine for a bout 5 mins minutes then it dies again and the ball is soft. i tried a new ball i put new fuel lines in it cleaned the carbs any suggestions would be great. i also have another problem i put a new trigger in and a new stator but its not chargeing the battey it has to yellow wires that come down to a regualer i think does it mater which way those go and when i put a tester on the yellow wires i read nothing out of one and 9.5 out of the other is this normal or could the regulater be bad. thanks

when you say you cleaned the carbs did you take them apart and check the needle and float height setting ? if not i would take teh carbs apart again change the needles and set the float height .

- rebuild the fuel pump
- set the idle mixture screws ( i'll tell you how if you get to this point ) easy a lean idle mix will cause hard and no starts and stalling - but i think by the sounds of it you need to do at very least the forementioned .

not charging - sounds like a bad rectifier - it does not matter what post the yellow goes to - as long as its not the one marked + .

with the carb turned upside down manual spec is 1/4 inch - you can go to 5/16in. if your having trouble with flooding/bogging in rough water .
