'86 Mercruiser 4.3 Electric fuel pump

I have replaced my old '86 4.3 Mercrusier engine with a reubilt. The old one had a mechanical fuel pump - the new does not. I bought a cheap automotive electric one to get the boat up and running etc. but now need to find the right one for this application. I have already run a oil pressure cut off switch for the power. Any recommmendations as to which fuel pump & psi pressure to get. Anything else (besides a hard fuel line) that I need to make is marine legal?
