'86 Tohatsu 55hp new impellor, still problems, now what???

Bought used boat and came with Tohatsu outboard last summer...still haven't got the cooling system running properly. I replaced the impellor, "by the book". Water pumps out while motor is cranking over and then stops pumping while motor is running. Thermostat seems fine.... any thoughts????

Where did you find an obsolete impeller for that model? Is there a piece of debris in the base casting?

There is a guy in Australia that claims to be making impellers, plates, housings and liners for these...I'll believe it when I see it
