115 on my bass boat with a 4" jack plate
purrs at wot until i start to trim it up, then she starts to miss/sputter, can trim it back down a little and she purrs again
fuel delivery when trimmed high?
these old mercs will only trim so high, so im not over trimming/over riding the trim

It shouldn't do that. Disconnect your mercury switch (if you have one) and see if that fixes it. If not, look for a ign killer wire being pinched and grounded as you trim. Check the stator and trigger wires for the same thing.

An 86 can trim very high, high enough to enough to starve the engine of water, even without a jack plate, so beware.

Does this happen at any speed/rpm, or only WOT? Does it quit when you quit trimming up, or only after you trim in?
