here's my problem, 1987 evinrude 140 hp, engine has 100 hours on rebuilt powerhead, idle's great, moves great at low rpm. tries to get to max rpm but before it will plane out, the rpm's drop off dramatically. i have changed all fuel filters, took fuel sample to check for h2o, none present. vro is not used. tach started acting stupid about 20 hours back (high revs indicated on tach but not through engine)new spark plugs installed. ran omc carb juice through carbs but no change. any help would be greatly appreciated.
