87 140hp V4 VRO throttle

So as I was trying to fix the grinding in reverse on my engine, I proceeded to kill the top speed on my boat by 6 knots! Not sure where or how that happened, obviously I adjusted the throttle, but I am not sure how to get the speed back. Any ideas?

you have 2 cables, shift and throttle, obviously, you have disturbed the throttle cable.

disconnect throttle cable at engine, set engine and control in nuetral and idle position and adjust cable to match engine.
