Just took the thermostat out and started it up. The temp is staying at 130 but there is water spraying out of the upper exhaust hole. I believe this means that the head gasket is blown...Right? I think after all of this nightmare I finally figured out the problem. 29 hours straight of amatuer outboard motor repair and it keeps gettin worse.......If i'm right and it is the head gasket i'm goin to sleep,,,,,,,,,

Wrong! Water spreying out the exhaust hole indicates that the water pump is working properly.

Best to run with the thermostat in.

Suggestion rather than spend the next 29 hours tryin "stuff" - - get a shop manual and read yourself to sleep.

I purchased the Seloc manual for my outboard and it covers way too many motors and is really confusing for me. I think the dealer gave me the wrong thermostat. gonna go there tomorrow and ask em after gettin some sleep......
